Goodbye, (real) world…
I’ve gone wandering into Capital Wasteland.

Fallout 3 – The Fool and his dog
I won’t be back for a while…
Thanks to Nick, I managed to borrow a PS3 set to try-out Fallout 3. Though the PC release is coming out this week, I suspect that my laptop might not having the ideal specs to run the game. I wouldn’t want my game play experience to be marred by technical limitations. And…well, I can’t just wait anymore when both of my cousins are already several quests deep in Fallout (my horologist Evil Cousin has already reached maximum bad karma at this point of writing) while Cuz is just some towns ahead of me..

Besides, I wanna see how Fallout 3 looks like on the huge HD TV in the living room.
Comparing notes with Cuz, its easier to spot items like stimpak and stuff among the background clutter.
When I set up the PS3, all I’d wanted to do was to update the firmware and to explore the functionality of the console…

0224h
I started tinkering with the set at around midnight. I started watching the “Making of” video first to see what’s the quality of Bluray DVD. And then I slotted in the Fallout 3 disc.
By 2am, I was wandering around Vault 101.
At 12pm the following day, I was still up – and I’d gained two experience levels after cleaning out an elementary school of Raiders…and I’ve barely started on my main quest yet.
So far, Fallout 3 surpassed my expectations and the decade-long wait was worth it. My addicted gaming behaviour is back again. It was the same feeling that I had when I played Wasteland during Primary school. And it’s the same feeling when I played Fallout 2 during my university days.
And it feels so good to be back in the game….
So long, (real) world.
