The Fool shows a child or youth, while the Magician depicts an all powerful adept. Just as the Fool showed us the price of eternal innocence, so this Magician gives us the fearsomeness of taking on responsibility. If the Major Arcana represents the Fool’s journey, the Magician is the first thing the Fool encounters.

Saturday, I paid a visit to Miss Koh at her shop for consultation on next year’s forecast. Also I needed to know the deadline to ‘thank’ this year’s Grand Duke Jupiter (还太岁).

Meteorite
天鉄

Now, I’ve got another addition to my crystal garden. Visiting Miss Koh is like going to the wizard’s abode upon the successful completion of each quest, or that you’re given with a magic item as part of your side-quest that would help you in the main quest.

It appears that for the coming year, I’m gonna be besieged by the ‘Five Ghosts’ (五鬼). Other than the necessary countermeasures that I should adopt (such as placating the Five Ghosts on an auspicious date at the shrine [金花庙]), she said I should wear a meteorite to ward off the bad spirits. The pendant that she prescribed is a sliver of iron-nickel meteorite encased in quartz emblazoned with a hexagram (✡) on both sides.

To the Tibetan Buddhists, the meteorite rock is known as “天鉄” (Tian-tie; Heaven’s Metal). According to crystal healers, the meteorite is a powerful rock imbued with great energies. If it’s properly activated, it can be very powerful. The Esoteric Buddhists (followers of the Vajrayana tradition. Although commonly attributed to Tibetan Buddhism – it’s also found in Japan in the form of the Shingon (真言) and Tendai (天台) sect of East Asian Buddhism) termed this element as “Heaven’s Metal” or the “Metal that came from heaven” and used the meteorites to make ceremonial aids such as the diamond scepter (vajra) etc.

Meteorite Explained
天鉄 explained

According to the annotation:

“西藏密宗称的「天鉄」, 就是天上掉下来的鉄的意思,也就是来之外太空的镍鉄陨石。如图的鋼鉄勇士, 宛如经历过星际大战一般:事实上,在它通过大气层的同时,表面已经被高达2000℃的温度给轻微融化了。”

What it said:

“What is known in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism as ‘Heaven’s Metal’, refers to the iron-nickel meteorite. The ‘Steel Warrior’ in the picture looked as if it’s experienced an inter-galactic battle (Star Wars). In fact, it was slightly singed by 2000℃ heat when it fell through the atmosphere.”

That’s from the Eastern Occultic school. If you take the advice from the Occidental school (according to Melody):

The meteorite is supposed to be rarer than the diamond, and is recognised as a gift from another world. The meteorite can be used for ‘balancing and aligning the bodies, within themselves and to synthesize the alignment between bodies’. It is supposed to ‘enhance the communication on this plane and can provide information stored within, concerning other-worldly aspects relevant to ones needs. The nickel-iron class of meteorite should be able to ’stimulate contact with other-worldy intelligence, enhancing the the connection during the receipt of information, and providing insight and knowledge concerning the moral structure of the elders’. (Hmm. Who are the elders? Does it mean this?)

Meteorite and Moldavite
Moldavite and Iron Meteorite

I’ll be wearing the iron meteorite together with the moldavite, the first piece of crystal I got from Miss Koh. She said the combination is going to be very potent. The properties of the moldavite as according to Melody, is:

“a stone to serve the inhabitants of this planet. It stimulates co-operation between those of extra-terrestrial origins and those who are experiencing life on Earth. It carries one beyond the mirage of life, to a home from which one has been absent, providing the image of eternity and the vision and energy to translate the image into reality.

It holds immense potential, for direct inter-dimensional accessing of higher galactic energies, to draw into the Earth plane those thought-patterns and light-vibrations which are optimal to ones preparation for ascension and illumination. It facilitates strong, clear, and direct inter-dimensional inter-connectedness between ones consciousness and the higher planes of light.

It expands the scope and the magnitude of the vibrational spectrum which one can approach, while allowing for a more encompassing passageway to those spectrum of which one already has access; that is, one will ’see’ more clearly and will ’see’ with an expansion of vision within the vibrational territory to which one has ventured, and/or one will be provided the inter-connection with the multi-dimensional horizons not yet experienced.”

Faaaar out dude! No wonder I am forever trippy. The description of the crystals that I wear sounds kind denpa (電波). That explains why I am such a misfit and that people think I am weird. Because I am not of this world. I am a stranger in this alien nation.

SHRINE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER

Here’s the shrine where I’d go to make supplications to the deities. Jin Hua Miao (金花庙 aka Golden Flower Shrine) is located at 799, Mountbatten Road. It’s next to the Singapore Sindhi Association.

There’s a bus stop near the shrine and SBS 12, 14 and 196 go there. The lady caretaker of the shrine will make supplications (in Cantonese) on your behalf for a fee. Earlier this year, I’ve been to this shrine to pay respect to this year’s Grand Duke Jupiter, and also sought help from the Chinese Cupid – The Lunar Old Man (月佬).

Was it helpful?

This year (The Year of the Dog) is supposed to be a bad year for Dragons – but so far it’s been a great year for me. There were more hits than misses. In terms of relationships – the Peach Blossom luck did shine on me. But more importantly, it’s helping me mend a relationship that I screwed up a year ago. Things are looking good, love-wise. Some may think that I’m going back to Square One. But it beats standing at Ground Zero.
